I’m preparing to purchase a 2" (also in 2.5") leveling lift kit for my '04 F150 4x4 Screw. I don't remember the name brand off hand but it’s the type of kit that uses a spacer at the top of the strut spring to lift the front of the truck. I’m interested in hearing if anyone has had a leveling kit installed and has experienced any problems other then the obvious need for a front end alignment after the kit is installed. Any input would be appreciated.
I installed the 2" autospring leveling kit in my super cab FX4 and it lifted it over 3" . Made the front higher than the back. I didnt like the way it looked and it put the fromt C.V. joints on a very sharp angle. I took those out and put the 1 1/2" kit in and that raised the front end just under 3" this is better but still a little too high. I found out the fx4 has stiffer springs and this is why it raised the front so much. I installed my 2" kit into a friends super cab XLT and i raised the front end 2 1/2'' looks great. you must align. the front end after installation. very important. The kit is very easy to install and just bolts to the top of the strut, no spring compressor needed. The truck rides the same. I hope this info is helpfull.
does anyone know about the leveling kit from ebay that goes for $115 its the full metal spacer that goes on top of the strut.
I just bid on that one on ebay and should have it by the end of the week. I'll put it on this weekend and let you know. My concern is that it will lift the front end higher then the 2" I'm after.
The $115 kit from ebay is the autospring kit. all steel that goes on top of the strut. I installed the 2" on my FX4 super cab. and it lifted the front over 3". I took that Kit out and put the 1 1/2" kit in and that lifted the truck just under 3". I put the 2" kit into a XLT super cab and it raised the truck 2 1/2". If you install the 1 1/2 " kit you have to cut about 1/4" off the top of your strut studs to clear the top of the spacer plate. I dont think the ad tells you about the 1 1/2'' kit you may have to call them. they will make the kit any size for you. But keep in mind anything smaller than the 2" kit you will have to cut your strut studs.
I installed the Autospring kit from Ebay on my 04 F-150 4x4 sc and it raised it 2 7/8" till i drove it once than it settle down to 2 3/8". rides the same and set the truck up just right

racione, did you use the 2" or the 2 1/2" spacer? Also, did you install it yourself? If so, how easy was it? I just bought mine and I hope to get it by this weekend.

It only measured 1 3/4" but they said it was for the 2 1/2" lift. thats what i ordered. I did install it myself, and the hardest part was getting the upper balljoints loose. Don't forget to get the front end aligned. Let me know what your measures when you get it.
