YMURF:
I have a 61 unibody with an old Y block. My neighbor asked if I wanted to buy his 82 Continental with a 302 and AOD transmission for $300. I thought I would yank the Y and 3-speed and put the 302 and AOD in. I searched this site looking for any advice on this process and saw you were doing the same thing. Would you reccomend it and if so, what problems am I going to run into? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hello xRatchetx..I havnt put it in the truck yet but it is ready to go in.I ordered an aftermarket cross member for the motor and trany since the y-blocks mount in the front and back. should be an easy install though. kit comes with everything including motor mounts. I know i will have to modify the drive shaft also. i did find a company that makes headers for this aplication. only thing i am not sure about is the trany hump in the truck. not sure but looks like i may have to cut it out and make it taller.but i havnt got that far yet.i will keep you posted on how it is comeing along though. good luck with yours but i think this is going to be an easy swap.
