Anyone try cherry bomb turbo mufflers?

http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P.../p-886/c-10101

I may trade in my 24 inch glasspacks for these, as they're not much more expensive and a friend told me they have them at the place i bought my glasspacks. Anybody try them? I'm looking for a more quality sound then the glasspacks maybe...... will these be alot better?

They are the typical turbo type muffler. They do sound good. I had a Thrush turbo on my Bronco, which is identical to the Cherry Bomb, and it had a deep throated tone that was not too loud, not too quiet. The turbos are a bit quieter than glasspacks, and are a bit more restrictive than glasspacks.......

Yes, turbos sound really good, in my opinion. They have sort of a 'burbly" sound, that glasspacks don't have. Their only drawback is that they are slightly more restrictive than a straight-through type muffler. The exhaust gas has to make two 180 degree turns inside the muffler, and this slows down the velocity somewhat.

The Cherry bomb turbos will sound similar but probly not as loud as the superturbos because of the lack of the so called flow director technology that the superturbos have.

Yeah, let us know, the cherry bombs I have are getting LOUD, at least inside, the truck still sounds good outside though. But the noise inside is just getting annoying, I am gonna probly look into them within the next month.

That puts them around $39.99 vs. $32.99 for the glasspacks. Can. Tire pricing though.

yup, I believe that was the price at Can. tire, not too bad, I'll be more then happy if they sound good, if not, they will be switched back for the longest glasspack i can find, but i imagine they will work fine....plus the headers, so i should be ok.

Yup, I 'm gonna be trying some soon and If I don't like 'em, they come off and I'm gonna try the terminators, always wanted to but never had the time to bother. I wonder how many times I can change the mufflers before the truck needs a whole new system? LOL

what do you guys think would be the cheapest easiest crossover pipe to install. My mechanic, a friend of the family is putting on the headers and mufflers, anyways which woudl be easier for him to install, an X pipe or an H pipe, i figured an H pipe would be easier and better, and then i can put my single 02 sensor(now located in a short 2 or 3 inch crossover tube at the very bottom of my Y pipe where the two pipes come togethor into one) into the middle of the H and maybe it wouldnt screw up the readings? whattya think? or do ya think just a single pipe, ran between the dual exhaust close to the headers would be an easy way to make a very simple spot for my 02 sensor, anybody any ideas? im still concerned about my 02.
