Help - Creaking windows and a recent TSB
Hello,
I have an 04 Expedition EB with approximately 5,000 miles and I love it. However, a few weeks ago the windows started creaking. It started with the driver's window and now includes all the door windows. It sounds like you're walking over an old wooden floor.
I took it into the dealer four days ago and myself, a tech and the service writer drove around the parking lot. Luckily we all heard the same thing. They called with this update last night:
- they thought they found the problem that was related to rivets in the doors coming loose. They said there was a recent TSB that covered creaking/thumping windows.
- they said they checked the rivets and they all looked "OK". The service writer (who seems to have done an excellent job so far) said he is planning on calling the tech line on Monday.
My question is this: has anyone heard of this creaking/thumping windows TSB and what does it say? If the rivets are fine what else could be causing this noise in all four windows? Also, what is the "tech line"?
Please forgive my questions if they seem basic

My 01 did the same thing on the driver side. I removed the door panel and used litium grease in a spray can. Make sure you use the tube in the can. Spray the track down, the rollers and where the scissors pivot. I haven't heard it in over a year.
