Predator outcome...

Thought you guys might find this interesting at my expense of learning.I bought a Predator tuner for a 7.3 from a friend who got it off e-bay.He never got to use it because he traded his 7.3 in for a new 6.0 at the last minute. The Predator was for my 02.I installed it on the 80 horse setting and was very disappointed.Black smoke and not all that much power.I tried it at 60 horse and it was better but still not what I thought it should be.(Now the truck is stock,I realize I could use some more airflow in and out to improve this)..I uninstalled it and went and bought a new Hypertech 3 setting tuner. After installing the Hypertech the engine was SO noisey at higher RPM I thought it was going to ruin it! The knocking sound was unbelievable past 2000 rpm!!! Power was poor also.. I put less than a 100 miles on and uninstalled it when I got home...I then remembered Ken saying something about the latest version for the Diablo that you could download on the internet.I checked it out on Diablos site and sure enough mine was the older one.I bought the interface kit for downloading and got mine updated in a few minutes. The r19cz is the latest one..WOW !!! What a difference!! I now LOVE the Predator and am very happy with it!! Not much smoke, lots of power, great shifts and it seems quieter than stock..A lesson learned..Hope it can help someone on here..
