CB

Does anybody know how to install a cb radio i got from radioshack if u need to see which one go here: http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CT LG%5F001%5F002%5F004%5F000&product%5Fid=21%2D1574
if any body can tell me how to install this in a 83 bronco II xlt i would appricate it alot also if you had pictures that woul help too.


PS also if anybody has a PA SYSTEM and knows how and where to installl that please tell me too. Thaks

There should be two wires, a red one and a black one. The Red is for power, the black is for ground. If you wire it directly to the battery, use an inline fuse. Other wise get a test light and wire it to the fuse box. As for the PA, go to a CB shop and buy a speaker and the required cable. It's pretty self explanitory.

WARNING: Do not run the CB anteana wire (coax) into the engine compartment. I did, and everytime I keyed up on the mic with the cruise control set my BII would accelerate. Better to mount the ant. up on top. I now use a gutter rail mount with a firestick. It works much better.

PS: Also, do not ground the CB to the battery. You will pick up a lot of road noise and it is more likely to corrode. Ground it to the steel on the dash board.
