The ABS light came on last Friday (8.17.04) and it had been sitting for about 7 hours while I was at work and when I cranked it up after work, and it cranked up fine like usuall. I started to drive and I noticed the ABS light was on. I was like WHAT THE FUFFUFUfuf.
It takes about 45 minutes to get home and it was on the whole way. It drove fine the whole way home. Then when I finally got home and I parked it in the car port and went inside for about 30 minutes, came outside and I cranked it up to leave and it didn't come on. And it hasn't been on since.
That day when it was sitting for about 7 hours it was raining really bad since Ivan (hurricane) came through. What would make this come on?
Anyone know why? I don't have a clue. I just put new rotors and pads on the front 3k miles ago. The drums in the back feel kinda worped when I slow down or brake. So I am about to change them.
i wish i had some kinda answer that would help you out. all i got is this happens to me all the time while mudding. in my case it has to do with the mud getting into the brakes, dosent mess the truck up or make my braking any worse, just comes on for a lil while then shuts back off without working on the truck at all.
Well maybe it was the rain then. I don't know but that is pretty weird that it comes on and then goes right back off. Anyone else have any suggestions?
I've had the same problem after mudding. What happens is mus gets caked up around my rear ABS Sensor. I had to replace the sensor one time.
If you don't do any mudding I would wait until the light came on and then take straight to your local auto parts store and have them plug it into there handy dandy machine and see if it gives them any type of code!!
