When I use my turn signals they blink really fast and outside signals don't work. If I hold the turn signal on but dont lock it in position, all works good. Only happens when you lock it in. It sometimes even works normal when locked in, but not very often. Does this sound like a bad multi function switch? Any tips on replacing? Thanks Jordan
I had this problem when I first bought my truck at 65,000 mi. When I took it for a test drive it did it and I thought a bulb was out, but they were all good. But ever since it hasn't happend. I guess since it was sitting around at the dealer it got a little "dusty" and the more I used it the better it got. I don't know what you should do to fix though. Probably something on the steering column.
It does sound like a bad multifunction switch.
They are easy to replace.
If you search in here you'll find instructions for it.
Basically you remove the steering column covers, 2 connectors and 2 screws.
I have a similiar problem, but opposite. Sometimes when I use my right blinker without locking it, I hear it click really fast, and there is no light on my dash. But if I lock the blinker, it starts working.
The flasher relay could also be going bad. They can fail either by blinking really slow or blinking really fast. Cheap and easy to replace. Not a bad place to start.
With the factory tow package in use..yes there are different fuses. Most after market taps right into your existing tail lights and such...so they aren't on a seperate fuse.
