Unhappy Rear-view Mirror Problem

Do any other Ranger owners have a problem with the rear-view mirror blocking their vision to the front right? (I guess it has to do with my height.) I almost hit a pedestrian yesterday because I didn't see her because the mirror was in the way.

Can anyone think of any solutions to this? Move the mirror? A smaller mirror? A transparent mirror? I love my little truck, except for this.

Thanks to all.

I had the same problem. The mirror has two joints so you can adjust it up and down as well as the angle.

The side-mounted rearview mirrors are one component on the Rangers that seem to be pretty aggravating from the introduction of the trucks. They used to be so small one couldn't see a gnat. Then, they got so weak at the adjustment joint that the wind slipstream from a passing vehicle would knock them out of adjustment. I got so fed up with them that I replaced mine with a set of mirrors from Truck Lite. Be all that as it may, Ken's response to you will indeed take care of the problem. However, DO please be careful when adjusting the mirors for too much tension and pressure on them when make them weaken to where they will literally blow out of adjustment if you go too fast or meet a commercial vehicle. I have seen them get so weak that they will fall out of adjustment if one hits a rough road.

Loan Ranger;
I was referring to the interior rear-view mirror. The exterior, side-mounted ones are fine. Thanks, anyway.

if you can adjust to using your side mirrors only, why not just remove it? most of the time during the fall when my wife does craft shows, the truck is so full i cant see out the back anyhow, i just become accustomed to using the side mirrors only. or what Ken said, there are 2 joints on the mirror bracket, push it all the way up to the headliner and re-adjust the angles.

Well, now I feel kinda' stupid. I just adjusted it up higher and that seems to have solved the problem. I guess I was so bothered that I almost hit that young lady, that I didn't notice the wide range of adjustment. Thanks to all, especailly Ken. Case closed.
