DPFE sensor
I am getting a P0401 code on my 1999 Ranger 3.0. Based on what I have read in the postings on the subject, I am willing to gamble and replace the DPFE sensor. Can anyone tell me where this sensor is located? I have ordered a manual but have not yet received it. Thanks! Joe

It's mounted on the upper intake. It's rectangular, has a 3 wire electrical connector, and 2 rubber hoses going to it. If yours is the original, it will be made out of aluminum, the newer ones are made out of black plastic.

Followup on DPFE replacement
I replaced the sensor (took about 5 minutes) with a part from Advance Auto Parts (approximately $53), cleared the code, and the check engine light has stayed off. Advance calls the part an EGR position sensor. Thanks again.
