sensor location

Can anyone tell me where to get either the temp sensor and map sensor location for a 98 f-150 4.2L? Or can you tell me where they are

Are you sure you have a MAP sensor? I looked your truck up and they only list a Mass Airflow sensor. If you have one, you usually don't have the other.

From similiar engines, I am guessing your temp sensor is dead center on the top front of the engine under the air duct. There may be two of them there. One for the dash guage, and one for the engine computer.

The temp sensor for the temp gauge will have a single wire connector, the coolant temp sensor for the PCM will have a two wire connector...

I could see that happening if the air ducting had a leak somewhere. The MAF tells the computer how much air is flowing into the engine. If there is air coming in somewhere else that the MAF doesn't know about, it could let too much air into the engine.
