I was looking at Ford website about it's hybrid and found out about this.
The Escape hybrid when "properly equipped" can tow up to 1000 lbs.
BUT...
the regular 4 cylinder can tow 1500 lbs and the V6 can tow 2000.
So if anyone plan to buy an Escape for towing heavy load, the hybrid may not be a good idea.
and if anyone want to see what the hybrid battery pack looks like, go to

Watch the video 1 and 2. You can see the big battery pack in the cargo area. That is also why the spare tire has to go under the vehicle.
