Question removing drip rails

on my '79 F100 the drip rails have holes rusted into them, which is a common problem i understand. i got to thinking about just taking them off and not replacing them. i think the cab would look better with out them. i'm sure plenty of you disagree. has any body else done this? the only thing i'm worried about is water maybe leaking in. if this would cause a leak problem where can i get a chrome set? any feedback is welcome.

You're right, removing them would probably cause it to leak. But new door seals may eliminate that - if it were mine I rather not chance it and keep the rails. The 'chrome' drip rails are actually a aluminum cover over the plain painted drip rails. So you would need to repair/replace yours then get covers - which can be had from the online store here or most any of the site sponsors.

This has been discussed a few times.
Maybe check in this & the bodywork forum.

Drip Rails in the title search should bring them up
