Oil Pressure
Whats the deal with the crappy oil pressure on 351 Windsors??? Mine is good when your driving but at idle it goes right down to nothing.It doesnt make any noise the only time it makes noise is on cold startup then it sounds like the bottom end is gonna drop out.The engine is an 86 351HO less than 100,000 miles on it. I guess its time for some bearings or more.

ok a couple of things u can try on is check the oil to little or to much will drop your oil pressure or your oil pump is going and i will tell you that is not a fun thing to change and i found everyway out of doing mine that would be how i found out there was to much oil in my motor

Sometimes the sending unit can go bad to. But this is a typical ford issue, if i were you and you want good oil presrure at all levels i would pull the motor, then the pan and install a melling high volume oil pump and you will run about 65 psi at highway speeds and about 40psi at idle (dad did this when he cracked a crank when the oil pump rod broke)
