torque converter lockup
what controls t.conv. lockup and lock out? this is a 4R70W, '01 4.2, 4 x 2, it has a slight jump or jerk when coming to a stop. a mechanic at work said it was prob. the t. conv. not releasing in time which would sound very much true. it's not any slack in rear end, u joints slip yoke. I had tranny flushed w/mercon V at about 62k,(recirulating type), previous owner said it was serv. but didn't ask where or what kind of oil used. (if he used some quick lube type place, i can be assured they used that general purpose pennzoil-which is o.k. except for these tranny's that specifically say merc. V). otherwise it performs perfectly normal. no engine lite and i have re set the computer. Any suggestions???? thanks...paul
