I have a 92 F150 300 i6. I have one plug that I can turn out 2 or 3 turns and then it won't turn any more. I am worried that if I try too hard it will break off in the plug hole. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how do I go about removing this plug?
Put some Marvel Oil on the plug base and let it sit for about 30 mins.
Agree. Or you may even need to put some Marvel in several times over the course of a week. Patience is your friend on this. I had to soak the steering wheel nut for TWO weeks before I could get it off. That baby was rusted on there. But it came off nice and easy without breaking anything. That's what you're after.
Thanks guys. I will try the Mystery Oil. I had some guys tell me to use WD40 and keep working it back and forth until it comes loose. Haven't tried that yet.

That's correct, just do it slowly and have patience. That procedure worked for me. Good luck!
And when you get it out, if there is burred debris on the plug, get a clean out tap and chase the plug hole threads. Put grease on the tap before turning it into the head so any debris will stick to the tap instead of falling into the hole.
The problem is more than likely carbon build-up on the end of the plug clogging the threads. Working it back and forth with solvent/oil should eventually break the carbon up.
Thanks for the input guys. I got that plug out. It must have been carbon build up. When I loosened it today it started out find then started to turn hard but came right out.
