1998 ford diesel pickup
Was looking into buying a 7.3 diesel pickup and was looking on e-bay and have found no listings for 1998. Were there no 1998 ford diesel pickups? Got my coursity up. I was orginaly planning on replacing the motor in my 1965 pickup and pulling a 5th wheel camper with it but could not bring myself to do anything but restore it. I just like old fords and have several. Thanks, Curtis

There were no 98 model Ford diesels built. The Superduty's came out in very early 98, like January i think, and they were called 99's, even way before 99.Ford went stright from the 97 Heavy Duty trucks, to the Super Duty's!!

Yes they did make diesels in 1998. It will be the second generation 7.3L Powerstroke. This is the IDI forum though so you need to go to the newer section to get more information about that engine.
