I'm planning on changing my radius arm bushings on my '77 F-350. The brackets are bolted on. Is there anything in particular that I need to do, or do I just remove the nut from the end of the radius arm and then remove the bolts from the bracket to get access to both halves of the bushings. Thanks in advance for any help!!
I didn't mention it in my previous post but it's a Super Camper Special. Maybe that's where the difference comes in. There are pics of the truck in my gallery, I've pretty much finished the motor, now on to other things. Relatively rust free truck, except for the bottom of the bed and it's not real bad, no rust through or anything. Putting a new rear slider window and doing the radius arms tomorrow. Thanks for the help!!

It's been a few years, but I seem to remember jacking one side (tire just off the ground) and kicking the tire forward to get the arm out of the bracket. Getting it back in took some prying, cussing, and lowering before I could start the nut.
Both sides were done in about an hour.
any of you guys got advice on changing the front bushings on a 70 bronco 4x4??I have the bushing but im a little lost on where to start..
Do you mean the "C" bushings that wrap around the axle tube?
Start with LOTS of penetrating oil. Avoid using heat on these parts.
You'll have to lift the body enough to remove the coil springs, keep the tires on the ground. Remove the springs, bottom perch, and finally, the end cap.
Check out the Candle Trick listed in the Garage forum FAQ thread for stubborn bolts.
19gator got lucky on the bolted brackets. Somebody replaced the bushings b4. It is sometimes easiest to grind off the rivet heads and punch the rivets out rather than curse at the radius arms trying to get them back in without messing up the bushings.
Check the pivot bushings and replace them if they are worn.
Sorry , I typed in 70 and I meant 79 Bronco, and yes, I meant the c bushings...will I need a spring compressor or do I just unbolt the shocks to get the springs out???

With the weight of the truck off the spring, you should be able to lift it out by hand after removing the small keeper bracket. Just remember to support the axle before you remove the radius arm cap.
