another minor problem

i need to change the rear windshield wiper moter. so after taking off the nut holding the wiper arm on it will not budge
so i need to know if the arm has splines on it or is it just a tight fit ( it is a NY truck so salt maybe the problem) i just dont want to break it taking it apart

It has splines but also has a catch underneath the arm. It is usually located right under where the arm starts. You'll have to lift the arm up.

Slide the catch over with a flat blade screwdriver and the arm should pull right off.

It is a tappered fit, there are splines and a lot of dirt could get in there and stick it on. I loosened the nut but left it on for leverage, then put my thumb on it and wiggled and pulled and it popped off. There are not catched and nothing other than the nut.
