i just ordered some of heddman hedder's 24"L x 4" tips, hope they sound good, since as a rookie welder i tried to weld on my last tip and somewhere it fell off.... still was practicing my welding, good thing it was a cheapo tip

 

best thing ive found to install tips without welding them is a band clamp, which can be bought at most truck supply stores. what it is is a piece of bendable stainless steel with 2 holes on either end. you wrap it around the tip and use the supplied nuts and bolts to tighten it together, works great, gives it a nice clean look and no leaks

FireFighter, i used Walker Mega-Clamp band clamps on the exhaust, they have 'em for straight or with a step, for butt or slip joint. Later i'll take some pictures from under the truck and post. Carl........o&o>..............
