it could be a lot of things making it run rough. check your basic tune up components. plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points (check dwell) and try to tune you idle srews on your carb. (a vacuum gauge can help with this). also check your timing. see if any of these help before digging deeper.. (also fuel filter)
