I am about to weld the boxing plates into my F1 chassis.......but before I do I need to install nut cages behind the bed mounting holes.
Trouble is I haven't got a bed to work out which holes I need.
How many crossmembers are under a bed?
How many holes do I need in the chassis?
What are the measurements relative to the axle centreline
Mark
PS I am shortening an F2 chassis for my F1 so ALL my holes could be wrong, hence the request that the measurements be relative to the axle centreline, not from the end of the chassis.......come to think of it the measurement from the axle centreline to the end of the chassis would also be usefull!
There was a thread several months ago that discussed making a F-2 chassis fit an F-1, the frame needs to be cut in two places to make it work.
Do a search and you will find all the dimensions.
Found that thread and it gave me the measurement on where to cut the back of the frame off.
But I am still after the number and position of the mounting holes for the bed to bolt to the chassis
From what I have been able to work out from some of the other threads there are two crossmembers between the wheel wells that bolt on top of the chassis
and then I am guessing that the bed bolts to these and also at the front and back?? I think there is also a crossmember that go's under the front panel ???
If this is correct then I must need 8 holes in the chassis ?? Measurements??
What makes it more difficult for me is that we didn't have any stepsides in Australia so I am not sure if any of the required holes are drilled in my chassis
