Unhappy Highboy mount towers

I tried the following in the engine swap forum, but didnt get far..

---------------

Hey

I know I've beaten this to death before, but there is still some confusion for me, after re-reading my old posts, and after searching the archives..

regarding the highboy 4x4's, like my 1976, are these mount towers the same or no?? I've been told that they are, and that they aren't.. i've also been told that you only have to move them ahead to the next set of holes on the frame.

I tried that, but the holes don't line up. I've also been told that you need to flip them..left on right, right on left.. I haven't tried that yet..

looking in the **77*** shop manuals i have, (the 76 manuals don't detail the 4x4's for some reason) the towers seem to have the same p/n (5057/5058) but don't seem to be swapped...

i need to resolve this, as i'm in the assembly stage of my project... there are no donor truck's in this neck of the woods and i'm starting to worry a bit..

if anyone has any experience in this area, i'd like to hear from them!

Jason
