just finished putting in new clockspring and everything works great as well as digging out a pencil and five pennies from the heater box this message board is just what i needed when i bought my next door neighbors 92 ext aerostar-he got lazy in looking after it so i offerd him 1600.00 and he took it.i have a few interesting things that might also help other fixer uppers the drivers side power window switch was dead.ford wanted 60.00 the auto wreckers wanted 30.00 and then one of my buddies suggested we check out canadian tire for a replacement switch. well we ended up finding one for a gm that fit.the pin pattern was the same and all that it required was a litle trimming on the panel.as well the lower roller on the slider door i took a piece of 1 and a half in.pvc pipe and ground out the inside so that the steel hub just about fit then heated up the pipe and inserted the hub and it works great and saved myself 80.00. by the way the guy was so lazy he never changed the oil in over two years......
Tell us more about the power window switches. I need one for the passenger side. I've glued it together twice and it's broken again. Ford here won't sell just the switch, only the entire door panel, same with salvage yards.
the place here in canada that i went to is canadian tire in the u.s. you would propbably go to pep boys.the drivers side switch i found appears to come from a chevy celibrity or olds of the same design and all we did was to match up the pin design on the back of the one from the aerostar to the gm one and they looked fairly close, plugged it in and trimmed the panel to fit-its not the exact looking one-its chrome but it works like a hot damn as for the passenger side you might want to try the same approach...good luck
