I am looking at buying a F350 King ranch but have not heard good things about the Continental tires from this website and others. The dealer is saying he can only change them at a cost to me. I just don't agree. Is anyone else having the tires changed to the BFG Rugged Trail or other tires before purchasing their trucks and is the dealer charging them.
I have these tires on my 05 F350 and I also have mixed feeling about them. Looks are ok, but they are advertised as all- terrian, more like all season. If I inflate to pressure stated on truck they ride like horse and buggy. Had to adjust to about 10PSI below stated pressures to get decent ride. On the other hand, I have seen alot of GOODYEARS on other trucks. I would rather have these than goodyears. I wouldnt put a set of Goodyears on my lawn mower. Hope this helps.
What size tires are they? There is currently a recall on the P275/60R17 size of the ContiTrac AW and General Grabber AW tires. Might want to bounce him out about other sizes.
Sorry guys. I was given the wrong info. The recall was for those tires used for SUV's and not trucks, but click here for the report in case you do have an Expy, Explorer or X.
I have them on my new KR and I did not like the first 75 miles as they were squirlly and roamed all over the road. Now that they are broke in some, they are very solid on the road and seem to feel ok.... I am very dissappointed that I paid for the OWL AT and got what looks like standard highway tread. They are stone quiet, and do ride much better with about 10psi less than max when running empty. For the cost of replacement 18" tires, I will wait and let the market come to me price and selection wise in about two years. I prefer Firestone or Cooper brands followed by Michelin, don't like GoodYears or Hankoooook!
