Running Rough
'97, 5.4, 125,000 miles. Running bad, missing bad. Check engine light came on, went to Autozone, Codes P0133 (O2 sensor, front, passenger side) and P0303, (misfire on cylinder 3). I replaced the O2 sensor, was going to replace the COP, but read here that often it's just corrosion on the spring. I cleaned both ends of the spring (wasn't that bad). Running about 50% better, but still an irregular bump at idle, a little stumble from stop, accelerates fair, but misses under load, like climbing hills. I have to either give it gas real slowly, or tromp the gas pedal. I've driven it about 200 miles, no check engine light, so now I don't know where to go. I know it could be a plug, COP, injector, etc, but I can't afford to just start throwing parts in, and since I don't have the warning light, I'm not sure if it's even coming from the same cylinder. Any suggestions?

How old are your spark plugs? Replacing #3 plug to try it would be cheap and somewhat easy.
Do you know someone with a truck like yours that you could swap a COP with for a few minutes to try it?

I don't know anyone with a similar truck who'll let me take off parts. I was thinking I'd start with the plug, since that would be the cheapest. Actually, this morning on the way to work the check engine light came on again. If it's still cylinder 3 I think I'll change the plug & swap COPs between 3 and 4 and see if the code changes.
