You need to look the VIN up on OASIS.

LAL, I thought the frt side door only told the month and year. I know OASIS gives the day too.

Question

Thanks Guy's... I read a TSB from FORD in reference to the vibration nibble in the steering wheel and it said that Trucks produced prior to 8/20/03 might need to have the steering gear replaced. But that don't apply to me I guess.. I have the truck going in the shop thursday, for shudder vibration in the rear when turning on take off and the nibble/shimmy in the steering wheel at highway speeds. I already had a tire replaced and all 4 wheels and tires road force balanced but I still think there is quite a bit of vibration for a truck with 3000 miles on it.

When did you first start to feel the vibration?

I took the truck back the day after I bought it. I felt it on the way home from the dealership. Don't get me wrong it doesn't vibrate your teeth out but it vibrates much more than a brand new truck should.

OASIS stands for Online Automotive Service Information System. The general public cannot access. Your dealer or someone who has access to the system can enter your VIN to get info for you.

TK-there is another thread that references the preload on the steering gear being too small, which causes the steering nibble. You may want to search for that text and take it to the dealer. A tech gives pretty specific directions in his post. Not sure if it is true, but it can't hurt.

Good luck!
