I recently replaced my burnt out bulb in my rear high mount brake light and noticed 2 other bulbs, which I assume are back up lights. They don't seem to be working. The bulbs are fine. I believe these lights are supposed to come on when the doors are open as well. Would appreciate any suggestions on troubleshooting this.
I have noticed they are wired that way on F-150s, which is why I was asking. Each light comes on when it's respective door is open also. The left one comes on when the driver side door is open and the right one when the passenger side is open.
Katdaddy - Your question re the cargo light was the same one that lead me to ford-trucks. I could find no mention of it in my owners manual so I located the best source of Ford info in the world. I did not know it would become a habit.

Anyone know anything about the "waterproof" foam seal as part of the cargo light housing in a 98 Ranger Supercab? It is the prime suspect in a leak problem.

Thank you. I went and bought a new assembly and put it in snugly without stripping the screws. Apparently, the foam seal compressed over time and allowed the leak to occur. Definitely look at your light assembly before doing anything to the window.
Thanx, i will. I have school and work tomorrow so i wont get around to it, but when i do ill post back. I need to get a relay first though so i can make the lights work when i put it in reverse.
