Oil Filter Location

Anyone tell me the location of the oil filter on my 2003 F-150 FX4 Triton V8?

Driver's side of block. Right next to tire. Look between the fender and tire. Pretty tight and very sux to get at.

If you crank the wheel to the hard left before changing your oil, it is a snap to get to.

Thanks for the info when you guys answered Randerso2. Mine is about due for an oil change and it will be the first on this truck since I just bought it about 2 months ago. Is it anything like the older Fords where when you pull the filter, it drools oil all over suspension parts and crossmembers trickling oil for about a week after the oil change?

You should be okay. Ford started putting in a plastic tray/channel that routes the dripping oil over the suspension parts. Just wipe it clean when your done.

My 99 expedition had the 5.4l and there was a factory displacement kit that moved the oil filter into the driver's side of the bumper...did they keep doing that after 99? Didn't notice what engine you had, Rand...thought I would throw this out there.

They did stop putting them behind the bumpers. My 98 F150 was behind the bumper, my 01 F150 was on the block.
