1979 F150 cranks for about a minute every morning and then fires up. Runs and starts great all day. Next moring same problem. I am assuming the check valve is allowing fuel back into the tank.
First, where is the check valve? Second what is the easy fix? I would like to just install an in-line check valve but cannot find one. Any idea would be welcome.
Welcome to the forum. I am not really aware of a check valve on these trucks. I wonder if the carb is cracked and letting fuel drain into the intake and evaporate overnight. Possibly could be the fuel pump too.
Others may have more ideas.
Once the gas gets in the fuel bowl, I don't think it can drain back to the tank. It sounds like the fuel bowls are emptying either through evaporation or leaks. Another thought is that the fuel pump could be failing. It probably has an integral check valve to properly operate. If that has failed, the only fix is a new pump.
