Talking 6.0 Crazy

Maybe I am crazy, but I hate to go to town on Friday because of the traffic. I saw Heath Cliff and Binky cutting traffic in his Porsche. A time later he cut me off going around a slower car and we met up at the next stoplight. GAME ON…Now I know a Porsche can out run me, it was just the principle, and I deserve respect. I pulled into 4x4 and launched the truck when the light went green. A simple but puzzled look came across the driver's face when the WOOT spit a black cloud across his windshield. At the next light he never looked and calmly turned to the right at the next street.

Man some of you fellas are rough on your trucks. No way I would ever do a luach in 4wd. But I guess I am just as hard on mine, just not on the street.
Been hub deep in sand in 4lo and gas to the floor to get out.

I venture to say the sand and wot in 4lo is much harder on the drivetrain than an occassional hard launch on the street !!!

The sand is in there for a LONG time...

Man... 4-Low was never meant to be used at high RPM's... and you state you had it floored????

Remind me to NEVER loan you my truck... if I remember right, the owner's manual says something about keeping RPM's or speed below a certain level when in 4-Low???

I got a little respect from Butthead (or was Bevis the blonde) in a black Trans Am on the rolling parking lot between Dallas and Austin on Sunday afternoon, after I spanked a little chebby Z-71 who couldn't go fast enough to get outta my way (I guess he thought his pipes were rocket boosters ) TA boy only THOUGHT he was gonna lose me til that turbo schorched the tips of his wings when I went by

Well I like my 6.0....and I figured we need some good posts instead of the ones seen here lately......A kinda cheering up so to say. My dealer has good service tech and I have FTE to keep me informed........It is so much fun.

It has been a good year.

I switched from:
Directv to Dish Network
Dial up internet to DSL
7.3 to 6.0

What more could you ask for.......Oh Yeah......Predator

Hey...I'm not unhappy that some people are not happy. If everyone was happy then our happiness wouldn't spread as much happiness as we are happy to share with other happy people.

I am very happy that I am happy about being happy about my beloved happy truck.

But what is really spooky is that happy 6.0ers like Tim, JD, C. Bob, PSD, BigHoss, DarylH & others is...

...they happily understand what I just said.

Here's a little jingle for Tim to yet stuck in his head again...

..."Don't worry..be HAPPY..."

Welcome to FTE Mike

Yes this is normal for your truck. None of the 6.0 trucks smoke but with some programming they tend to. Unlike the Cummins or D-Max with excessive fueling the 6.0 does not result in a plume of black smoke....just a short puff when the turbo spools up.

How do you figure 4 lo in the sand is harder than a hard launch on the street? I always figured you are better off in 4 wheel drive with something that will allow the wheels to slip i.e. dirt, sand, snow, wet pavement, etc. But a hard lauch off dry pavement in 4 wheel drive has got to put a lot of stress on the whole drivetrain. Now I would agree that being floored in 4 lo doesn't sound the best either, but I see no harm in 4 lo in the sand. Unless you are saying getting sand in the bearings etc. is the problem??? Just curious.
