Hey, I just joined the group and am looking forward to sharing and learning from other F-1 owners. I have a 52 Panel in progress (aren't they all). I will post a picture when I figure out how.
Hi 52panel and welcome to FTE! Check out the gallery forum and you'll get all the info you need for posting your pictures. Also take a few minutes to read the forum guidelines and the red notes at the top of the forums. They will really help you along your way. Thanks for coming and using FTE...come back and post often!
Thanks for the welcoming greeting. It is nice to find a forum with other folks with the same interests. I have posted my pictures (8) in a gallery named TMGR's 52 Panel. (My real estate company is TMGR, The Mostoller Group Realty). My panel came from Wilsaw, MT. A gentleman named Ken Hawks owned it and had done quite alot of work. This is my second 52 panel. The first was in 1968 as my mortorcycle hauler when racing. Later it became a daily driver with a 265 Chevy. Have been looking for a straight truck for five years. Looking forward to getting and sharing information with others who have a common interest.
Check out my gallery in the "Other Fords" gallery. I drove my 55 Panel for nearly 20 years before it was stolen and trashed. Your truck is completely outstanding and makes me cry for my oldie. Keep up the great work on it!
Click my username, then View Gallery, then a list of my galleries will come up on the next screen. The one with my panel is in the middle...a blue link..or feel free to look at all the galleries there. That help? My only sadness is that I never had a good camera back then and when my panel was stolen, I had done a lot more work than the pics there show.... home made wooden running boards with Ford Step plates, finished the interior, mag wheels.... I gotta stop....
I followed you instructions and was able to open the gallery on your panel. Too bad that it was stolen. The project looked like it was going good. Was the dual quad 302 in the panel? I have a single Holley 4 barrel on an
Elderbrock Performer on my 302 and it gets down the road pretty quick. I believe the Holley is a 700 cfm and the gas gauge drops pretty quick when I hear the roar.
What else did you do to the 302 besides the 2x4? Do you remember what cam you were running? To be honest with you, I have never built a performance Ford motor. Most of my engine building has been with small block Chevy and the L16 and L20 Datsun (Nissan) engines. I have had some pretty good runners with them but the Ford is a new deal to me. I have driven Ford products (Lincolns and Merc Marquis) since 1988 and love the reliablity. I'm happy that the panel is all Ford. I just have a learning curve to overcome.
