i do think a CDL is required because of the air brakes.......maybe i'm wrong, but a neighbor converted a frieghtliner into a daliydriver...he removed the pigtail, put a weight in its place...but had to get a cdl inorder to drive it because of the air brakes......

I saw an article in a magazine (cant remember which one) where the US military is planning on buying these and thats how it all started. The military version was 4wd and had 50cal gun mounts. I think its the ultamite pickup, Diesel, 6 ton payload, air ride cab and seats, leather interior, and likely way overbuilt considering the platform they are using. Look at how much abuse those cement mixers take and keep going.
Well, I got to see one UP close and PERSONAL. It was parked next to me at the truck show last weekend. It was Red with graphixs, crew cab, big ol' stack on the passenger side, and 4WD!!!!
It was beyond HUGE
I talked to the owner all afternoon. The price tag was $97,000
Now, that might have been his cost(he owned the dealership). Yes, it's a FORD dually bed on the back. Most people recognized that the body lines just do not line up right enough for $100K truck. The cab needs a lower valance to make the front fenders, cab and bed all meet on the level. Ya, we picked it apart . This fellow had a BIG drop receiver on it so he could pull his trailer. They offer an air ride option for it also.
