I'm planning to hone out the intake manifold and throttle body, but cant find the haynes manual, just wondering if anyone knew what the torque specs were on the intake manifold?
Orientation: Looking at it, back-to-front (natch.)
13 10 6 1 4 8 12
11 7 3 2 5 9
Spec: 26. I do 30 in three stages of 10, and retorque after running it. Never any problem with this...
...bleh. Just previewed it. Looked nice in the editor window, but subsequent viewing showed the numbers more mushed together. Oh, well. Back to text editor...
oops, that's carbed. EFI goes a little something like this:
4 16 2 3 15 1 14 11 12 13
5 6 7 8 9 10
I dunno about anyone else here, but this sequence looks like a recipe for eventual leakage. It's what the book says, though. Bah, who ever reads them things, anyway! Same torque spec. Intake plenum, you just start from the middle and work your way out. Plenum to lower manifold studs/bolts:12-18 ft. lbs (lbf), 16-24 Nm. I like doing it in stages here too. Hylomar is your leak-free forever friend. Anything else while I got this here man-ule handy?
No problem, the manual was right infrontome. Happy to help. That extra torque won't hurt it none. I had to put about 35 on mine (carbed) to keep those less-than-quality header flanges from leaking, but I do have 1 1/2" dia. thick washers on there, so it spreads the clamping force a bit more...
