Hello all...
I might be posting this in the wrong place and if so please forgive me. I am rebuilding a 302 roller motor for my 67 F100... the problem I am having is camshaft endplay. I cannot remember if there was a spring at the camshaft retainer and I cannot find it if there was. I have about a "half inch" of endplay in my cam once I bolt the retainer in place. I am by no means an expert on Mustang motors so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
...I think the problem was that I had not put the cam gear on which pulls teh cam forward and eliminates the play that was there...exactly what you were talking about. Oh well, I guess I had to spazz about something because everything seems to be going together so well! I have about two grand tied up in this motor and I know that is not much to some but I am really apprehensive that I might do something stupid and have it flushed down the drain! ;-)Thanks Freightrain
