I was replacing battery cables with pos and neg disconnected. Knew from taking the battery off before that when you hook the battery up after disonnecting it the alarm would go off, until you disarm it. But this time i dont have the remote with me and i cant find it. How can i start the truck i need it tommorow!
Do you have the owners manual Mike? You should find in the owners manual that there is a reset button somewhere in the truck for when the remote battery dies...u can unlock the door w/ the key and push the button. Look under the dashboard somewhere...someone else might have a better answer its all I got
Alright i have fixed the problem, well at-least i can start the truck now. There is a button located under the dash that will disarm the alarm when pushed. You have to connect the battery, setting off the alarm. With everyone staring at you like your stealing it turn key to on position so that dashboard lights come on. Push the little black reset button located under dash just to the left of the little pocket under where the 4x4 Switches would be if i had them this will stop the alarm and you can start the vehicle.
Why does it seem like i am the only one with this stupid alarm (granted the keyless entry part is great)
I think it's weird how they have little differences between the trucks.
Like my 302 has a different shifter **** than the 300s. I have a chrome keyswitch and the 300s have a black one (my buddy's 351 bronco had a chrome one).
Your truck has black for the XLT trim on the dash, mine is a chromish kinda thing
At first I would have said maybe they just used whatever parts they had but...it seems to have a pattern.
My dad's 300 has a chrome key switch... I think it may be a combination of options, rather than engine size, which probably is the reason for a different shift **** as well, although the only differences I've seen in the shift ***** is between my truck ('87) and everything newer.
