Blown Turbo
My name is David and I am new to this group. My wife and I own an Fire and Ambulance service in Colorado that only covers racing events. My fleet of nine ambulances are all Ford E350's with three of them being Power Strokes. Yesterday the 1995 Power Stroke blew the compressor and turbo. Is the stock OEM turbo the only unit I can put back into this truck or can I get a turbo with a little more boost with out making the truck to racey? I don't think any large chunks went into the engine and the oil looks ok. However, there is a lot of small metal shavings from the turbo going down the exhaust to the catalytic converter. Any help or suggestions would be great. The truck weighs about 12,000 lbs and frequently pulls a 20ft tandem trailer with our extra equipment and ATV's. The trailer loaded weighs about 4000 lbs
Thanks
David
I know you can get different turbo housings and different wheels,Wicked Wheel is a real common one. I'm not the most knowledge about them. From what I've read I think they will do what you want. If you wanted to make it racey, you'd have to start going to power chips and everything that goes along with them.
I just thought I'd welcome you to the site and give a big thanks for being the medic on hand at the races. For other people's sake, hopefully you don't have to work too hard!
Thanks
David
