I installed mine on my FX4 earlier tonight. I was dissapointed with them though. It seems Kleen has cut their material quality/thickness quite a bit since I bought them a few years ago. While mounting the first one, it snagged a lug, and it broke a little piece of the insert. Its quite flimsy. The pair I put on my 01 F150 were much thicker (could have been 50% thicker). They are the only game in town though, so you just have to take it, or design your own. dust guards on 18" rim
Thing is how thick do they need to be to do the job? With all the vibration problems on the 04's I'm sure they don't want to be blaimed for the problem. Mine are black, but just barely painted. They say aircraft quaily alum, so corrosion should not be a problem. I was thinking about painted them, but what color??
The next question is... When you rotate the tires, Kleen Wheel's are vented to run in one direction according to the red arrow. If you crisscross the tires you have to pull the brake dust cover and reinstall it so its turning in the right direction. Like I said I haven't done mine yet...how hard do they go in and can you pull them out without bending the crap out of them???
