I spent my weekend changing my oil on my '01 F250 diesel.
sure am glad I get to use company suplies such as garage filters and the 15qrts of oil (save my dollars for my monthlys payments)
good job on gettin all that done greywolf! i too had a good weekend, whent 4wheelin on fri. and sat. and my truck came home in one peice every time. i too am a happy man.
Well I'm glad to see someone had a productive weekend. We had some nice weather this weekend too.
I hope to soon be doing the same. I spent my weekend at the Norfolk Airport. I'm on active duty, in the Army National Guard, providing security at the airport. Don't get me wrong, I love serving my country but, my TOT (time on truck) is suffering.
Please let me know how you did this and what you used.
Thanx
Soujar
P.S. Looks Great!!!
Greywolf, That looks very familiar. I just did the same thing last week to my 78 F150. I used that "rubberized undercoating" spray paint on the frame. I don't know how it will hold up, but it looks better than when I started. I painted the axle housing Ford blue using DTM paint (direct to metal) last night. I'm doing the drive shaft in blue as well just to add a little color underneath.
I wish I could've got mine done in just one weekend!
I figure the frame under this truck is not a "Keeper" - I want a 250 or stronger some day. And realistically I know that if I blast off the surface stuff with high pressure water, Rustoleum will seal it against most damage for quite a long while.
I wish I could have done a complete frame-off restore, but this truck isn't the one I'll do it to. In the meantime, it's at least a lot better protected than most of the trucks it's age.
My dream machine is an F-350 or bigger deisel 4x4, and that one will come home a piece at a time. FRAME FIRST!
In my heart of hearts, I drool over pictures of early Cab Over Engine (COE) trucks. Now THAT would be a labor of love....
My weekend was fairly productive. Friday I dropped my Excursion off at the Body shop for a lift kit, all day Saturday I worked on my 72 Dart, Sunday morning I did an oil change on my Club Wagon, and worked on the Dart a little more.
The Atlanta race coverage started at 12:30 pm here, so I watched it, and kinda goofed off the rest of the day, until my wife told me to do the dishes:-X23
But after work today I picked up my Excursion!! The guys at the body shop installed a 2.5" body lift, and a 4" suspension lift. I picked it up from the body shop and brought it to the Tire shop. They're putting on a set of 40" Tires ( I wanted 42" tires, but everyone I spoke to about them convinced me otherwise). It should be ready after work tomorrow!
Now I'm on the computer!(I just finished the dishes, again)
SAT built a new flatbed for my brothers truck did some tinkering on my commercial lawn equipment, SUN BUDWEISER, NASCAR, BBQ, BUDWEISER, BSing, BUDWEISER oh did I mention BUDWEISER.
Sat. I drove around all day until The FTE meeting here in GA. Then I went home and sat around for the rest of the day. Sunday, I went to my Grandpa's house and helped him wax the motorhome and then he let me get out his 1968 (I think) Dodge Charger with the 440 Magnum. Needless to say, I terrorized the roads for a little while with my Grandpa in the passenger seat. I know, bad me. Then I came home, watched the NASCAR race and then sat around.
