no, it's in one of the lines in the wiring between the dizzy and the igntion module, look on the drivers side fender, behind the battery. That is where mine is in my '92.
thanks....it was behind the battery.
my problem is loss of mid throttle power.
if i advance the timimg to 15-18 degrees btc it runs great, but at 10 degrees it runs great at low speed and good if i stick my foot thru the floor, but in between, it slobers all over itself and i get the finger a lot....help?
Sounds like the problem I'm having with my 96 E-150 4.9. Mine runs good taking it easy but it seems when you give it a lot of throttle it is slower or bogs down? on the highway it runs great! I find myself doing 75-80 withoutrealizing it and wondering why everyone is going so slow. My timing is at 12* or so.
yes... sounds like mine...
I reset the timing to 10 so i can take it to the ford dealer for diagnosis.
advance it to 15-18 and it runs good.
The most unreliable appliance we have is our computer and ford decided to put wheels on one and call it an econoline.
but I digress.
The ford dealer here in my town is Theodore Robbins Ford....locally refered to as "teddy the robber".....fondly of course.
I'll let you know what teddy says.
Thanks for the help.
