Need help with spring modification...
I have a 76 F250. It is very customized (see gallery). It currently has SkyJacker softride leafs all the way around. The problem I have is that the truck is MUCH lighter (4600lbs) than it used to be, especially on the front axle, and will never tow or haul anything again. I would like to soften these springs up some more, specifically so the truck will weight transfer better under hard acceleration, improving rear axle traction. It currently has a 60/40 weight balance, so it has the potential to load the rear tires if I get the springs right.
The question is, can I just remove (or have removed) some of the leaves from the spring packs?
