ticking noise

Cool ticking noise

hi,
i recently bought a 77 f250 and i replaced the input seal on the rearend. well now every time i give it gas i here a load clunk followed by a faint tick, tick, tick and by the way i didnt torque the nut down i just snuged it up really good
so could i have not torque it down enough?

nope the exhaust is good. the ticking only is when i take off at a stop sign

could it be a U joint? mine were all bad and it gave me odd noises and feelings.

well i got under it and moved the driveshaft back and forth and it sounds like it is coming from the pumpkin...?

the drivshaft should be tight. it should not move at all, if the truck is in park that is. it could be the u joint right at the pumpkin.

nope it is a manul, i had it in gear and the u joint is atiny bit bad but not that much. then i put it in gear and that is when i can move it and here the noise

i would fix the u joint first, and if the problem persists, pull the rear differentail cover off and inspect the gears, they could be damaged, or there could be something in there. does it have limited slip? it could be something wrong with that too.

ya i think im going 2 try that first and go from there. nope it dosen't have limited slip (i wish it did) thanks alot for your info.
