hi,
i recently bought a 77 f250 and i replaced the input seal on the rearend. well now every time i give it gas i here a load clunk followed by a faint tick, tick, tick and by the way i didnt torque the nut down i just snuged it up really good
so could i have not torque it down enough?
thanks
jim
nope it is a manul, i had it in gear and the u joint is atiny bit bad but not that much. then i put it in gear and that is when i can move it and here the noise
i would fix the u joint first, and if the problem persists, pull the rear differentail cover off and inspect the gears, they could be damaged, or there could be something in there. does it have limited slip? it could be something wrong with that too.
