Ordering a flowmaster

Ordering a flowmaster
I have a question on size of in let and out let. When they say 2-1/4", is that ID measurement or OD measurement. I have 2-1/4" OD pipes. Just want to make sure I order the right one.

Exhaust pipes normally are measured in OD. Replacement mufflers are normally measured as the same size as the pipe they're fitting onto. They are a "slip-fit" onto the pipe, so you could say they're measured in ID.

That's what I was thinking. I just didn't want to order a 2.25 muffler and find out it won't slide over my pipes.

ok must be a definite rookie to anything apparently. ID = inside diameter and guess what OD = outside diameter
