Well took a 05 F350 6.0 crew cab long box XLT for a test drive today. Awesome, lot of power did'nt notice any lag or anything! Took it to a parking lot and made circles the turning radius is great. It had the camper package and I thought it rode great! A little bouncy on the cement freeway! But on the gravel washboard road even the wife was amazed how smooth it was. My first time in a diesel, idling it sounds like a diesel not as loud as some Ive heard though, but once you get going down the highway its real quiet! I did notice that when you came to a stop or backed up you would catch a little whiff of what I assume to be diesel. I don't know? Nothing that would bother me although! Pretty cool truck I bet it tows great! I would like to try the 3v V10 although! Decisions decisions!!

My friend it is ALLL ABOUT the 6.0!! It's just that simple.. Just think for under $500 you can add 100+rwhp and 200+tq..
Now you went and done it! Once you've driven one there's no going back.
The 6.0 is a 'little' louder when cold, and a 'little' noisier than some of the 'other' diesels, but does quiets a bit to a very comfortable 'song' when warmed.. Personally, I love the sound.. The power is impressive for sure, but even more so with a tuner. The 6.0/trucks, or at least mine too, do pick up a small amount of diesel 'aroma' when slowing/stopping/backing if the conditions (windows/vents) are right.. But, is a characteristic of all diesels.. But with the windows down, and listening to the turbo sing as your pulling grades with ease, or passing with just a toe on the go peddle.. Don't get no better than the 6.0..
And if you really want to see the truck get off the line at a stop light, hold the brake and add some throttle to build boost before the light changes. Makes a big difference in those situations where you want to leave the light in a hurry - like when a Duramax is sitting next to you

yea kubatob sledding is one of the passions that seem to drain my finances! Plenty of deep powder and trails here in Montana if we can just keep the enviromentalist's from shutting them down. I tow a 4 hauler open, would like to have an enclosed. Is your 04 a Rev? Do you have any trouble with your diesel in the winter? Thanks !
1st winter w/ 6.0, however, several friends have 7.3 and w/ fuel additive none have ever had a probelm. hopefully holds true for me.
also looking for enclosed, the misses said enough covering and uncovering, sold open last march now looking at ez-loader from worthington trailers(2 place).
sledding a good way to spend extra funds.
04 gsx ski-doo 500 super sport, the misses, and yes it is a rev, she loves it.
kubatob, how is the truck running in the mornings? What oil are you running? I grew up and PA, near Altoona, and I am curious how my 6.0 will handle the winter. I live in DE now but travel alot in the winter to PA. Can't resist, it is beautiful in the winter.
