Every big rig I ever owned was changed over to Delvac1 as soon as I could do so. Without exception, fuel economy improved, oil consumption decreased and overall cost of ownership went down. My last rig had a 3406E 475 hp Cat, and by performing oil analyses, I was able to extend the drain interval to 100,000 miles. I know this is just one of the oils available, but I swear by the Delvac1.

Yes you can't really go wrong buying delvac1 but it's expensive ,there is direct comparision test done by SAE between delvac1 and duron , and they equal in all the test ( you can find this test on the web ), petrocanada duron is half the price. But delvac1 is excelent choice, if money is not a problem
If you use the 15w-40 in the winter you might have hard starting due to the oil thickening. 10w-30 would be a better choice. Just make sure it is CH-4 or CI-4 rated. In either case, if the truck has the original batteries you might want to consider replacing them before winter. They are getting near the end of their useful life.
