Question Crankin Power/ what about daily milage settings?

Hi everyone, sorry yes I'm a Newby to this forum. But I have a neighbor (77 years old) who has a friend visiting (78 years old) who want to have power when towing up hill. But when not towing better milage(MOSTLY BETTER MILAGE). I thought by asking the guys who know this stuff, I could help him faster. After all they don't have a lot of time to figure this all out. I read about the plug in programers, but didn't see any thing about milage improvements for flat landing it. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,

My Grandfather is 80 and has an 01 PSD LB 6 speed, and swears he gets 22 MPG unloaded. He purchased a Hypertech programer a week after he bought his truck (new) and has run it since with it. Of course, he does drive it like an old man too, unless you dare him

With virtually any "tow" chip, if the truck is driven conservatively, the fuel mileage will improve some. I would assume that would also be true of a tuner in the "tow" program.

I have a 2000 psd, 6 spd., with an edge programmer, magnaflow exhaust, and intake, and I am getting 20-22ish unloaded on the highway. Not quite so good if I keep my foot in it. I can manage about 15 or so with a full size car in tow, and thats running around 70-80 mph.
