Have a Problem here......
The group of us guy's back in the 70's that used to hang out together all agreed on this :
If someone could make a car with a Mopar Drivetrain, Ford Chassis and suspension ,and put a Fisher body on it. That would be a great vehicle.
Times have certainly changed with plastic being used more.
But,what a concept.
One engine that I could have mentioned earlier is Volvo's
2100 > These engine can see almost a 800,000 miles if maintained properly.

So everybody likes what they like and thinks its the only thing out there and everybody has horror stories about another vehicle. I guess Ive been blessed because to date (over 34 vehicles) I never got a hold of a lemon.
Just so you know besides the focus the only other ford CAR I owned (besides my street rod) was a 85 turbo coupe.

besides, going fast is much more important than looking good. looking fast will get you only so far, but looking slow and hauling ****** can take you anywhere. GM products continue to make cosmetic enhancements, but they haven't done anything interesting drive-train wise since the SS Impala.
I think they look goofy, the engine compartment is packed so tight it's a S.O.B. to get to anything in it to work on it, they are small, and the engine is one of the "Here this year, redesigned the next" variety.
All of this from personal observations.
I think they suck
It's your money and time and it sounds like your mind is made up. If you want to try something else then that is your decision. Just don't be surprised if the tow truck that comes for your pontiac is a Ford.

Hmmmmmmm - isn't this site called "Ford Truck Enthusiasts". Just can't understand why people in this site would want to talk about nothing but "Ford Trucks"!!!!
I have a 1999 Grand Prix that I absolutely love but being a "Ford" site, I stick to discussions on our '92 F250 and '41 1/2 ton trucks.

Hey Wilber15. I hear you. I'll take an F150, but only if it is a Lightning. For a real truck, check out the SuperDuty. It's one fine looking truck. And now you can get it with a six-ratio manual transmission. As for buying a car, I recommend a Ford--any Ford.
Drive a stick young man! There'll be plenty of time for automatics when you're old and unable.

I'm confused. You log into a Ford Truck site, and say you are looking for advice. You say you have to sell your Ford Truck so you can buy a Plastic Pontiac. Did you expect us to agree with you? Later on, you respond to another post, and say how you hate the way the new F-150's look, etc., etc... Apparently you have your mind made up, and it seems all your friends are GM guys, so what kind of advice are you looking for????
My advise to you is: Try thinking for yourself! Do what YOU think is best. And if you are looking for positive GM comments, try finding a GM web site.

You can have it for free. I live in San Mateo, CA - 20 miles south of San Francisco.
My wife lost confidence in it because the oil pressure gauge would settle in the low range when travelling in bumper to bumper stop & go traffic. She had just started a new job w/ an hour+ commute and didn't want to have a failure out on the road somewhere. She opted for a base model camry(that now has 100,000 miles on it). I think the GA was a much nicer car inside and out(more power, better gas milage and nicer interior).
