I asked a guy about swapping the stock 17" inch wheels for smaller ones. He said I could only go down to 16" wheels without having to do something about the brakes. But I've seen huge trucks around with maybe 13" or 14" wheels, wrapped inhuge 44" rubbers. That's the look i eventually want to give my truck. So i'm wondering if anybody knows anything about smaller performance offroad brakes. Or if I have no idea what i'm talking about could someone please steer my in the right direction. I appreciate it guys.
The smallest 44" I've ever seen is 15" (though the do look like 13" compared to the tire ). I've driven only one vehicle w/ 44's (old blazer 1/2 ton 15") Didn't stop worth a flip. If this is a 3/4 ton or heavier you will have a very hard time finding smaller brakes that fit. Are you wanting smaller wheels for a better tire selection or for better off road performance (more sidewall)? I wouldn't recomend smaller brakes at all.
