I have an 89 aerostar 3.0 2wd, a4ld? trans. I need to know where the fuel pump is and if there are more than one in the system. I want to use this van as a donor for my '84 bronco II wich is a non efi vehicle. could I swap the pump with the appropriate harness from the van? any help appreciated!! :-X11
In the plastic gas tank. Access by removing the tank and taking it out the top. I wish Ford could have provided a floor access plate, like they did on the '91 Escort GT I had to replace the fuel level sensor in last week -- it was a piece of cake!

Though the (Haynes?) manual implies otherwise, there is only one fuel pump on the '89 w/3.0l, and there is no "frame mounted" electric pump. Must be for some other year, that second pump.

Possibly. I would think that the getting the pump powered would be a fairly minor issue, compared to the ECU harness and sensors wiring.
