Help I have 98 Expedition that the towing lights will not work. There is running lights but no brake or turn signals but the lights on my vehicle work. Is that the relay or a fuse if so where would that be located. There was not any fuses in the fuse box for that. I took it to have a brake box installed for hauling my trailer and they did not know where is was at so we can fix it. Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Welcome to FTE!
Some trucks have trailor fuse/relay in the power distribution box under the hood. If you have an owners manual for the truck, it should show the location there. The lid for the power dist. box should also have a diagram for each space.

Yes, I am having the same problem with my '98 F-150 and all fuses are good in the power dist box....I also checked a few fuses associated with the stoplamps in the interior fusebox, no luck.
Is there 1 separate fuse/relay specifically for the trailor lights in your truck? I believe there was some talk about that space in the power dist. box being empty right from the factory on some trucks? I don't have any manuals to look this up so maybe you could check your owners manual & identify the right space for it.

Fixed it! Turned out to be a blown 20 amp fuse located in a small black fusebox between the power dist box and the firewall. I found this info by doing a board search. Hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.
I just came across this post so I'm late.My Dad's 97 f-150 had the same problem and I spent a couple of hours scratching my head looking for a fuse.I knew there had to be a fuse after checking volts and doing continuity tests.I was thinking ground at one point but it had to be a fuse.I looked right at the fuse several times for sure and really felt kinda bad when I finally found it.
